Moses, hatter and farmer. His farm was partly in Hollis and partly in Pepperell, MA. He died of apoplexy while leading a prayer meeting.⁶

On 23 Aug 1742 Moses first married Hannah Sewall in Hollis, NH. Born on 1 Feb 1722 in Newbury, MA.

Hannah, dau. of Samuel & Lydia (Storrs) Sewall.

On 18 Dec 1777 Moses second married Katharine Emerson (27385) , daughter of Peter Emerson (13604) (ca 1673-19 Jan 1750/1) & Anna Brown (18281) (23 Mar 1677/8-24 Apr 1740), in Hollis, NH.⁶ Born on 2 Dec 1718 in Reading, MA.⁸⁴ Katharine died in Hollis, NH, on 2 Aug 1809; she was 90.⁶

Children of Josiah and Katherine (Emerson) Conant, born at Hollis:
i. Josiah Conant, b. 17 Oct 1746;
ii. Catharine Conant, b. 12 Dec 1748, d. young;
iii. Catherine Conant, b. 10 Sep 1753; and
iv. Abel Conant, b. 3 Oct 1755.⁶
