Joshua was carried from Deerfield with his second wife Esther, who was killed by the Indians the day after capture on their way to Canada. Joshua returned from Canada and removed to Dorchester, where he had a third wife Repent who died 22 Jul 1714, and he remarried a fourth time.27
On 1 May 1700 when Joshua was 24, he first married Sarah Leonard, daughter of Josiah Leonard (2 Jan 1658-15 Feb 1688/9) & Sarah Dumbleton (5 Feb 1654/5-3 Jan 1693/4).10 Born on 16 Sep 1682 in Springfield, MA.10 Sarah died on 24 Apr 1702; she was 19.10

i. Elizabeth Pomeroy, b. 29 Mar 1701, d. 1 Apr 1701; and
ii. John Pomeroy, b. 20 Apr 1702.
Joshua second married Esther [Pomeroy]. Esther died on 1 Mar 1704 in Deerfield, MA.
On 4 Feb 1708 when Joshua was 32, he third married Repent Weeks (23658) , daughter of Joseph Weeks (10295) (ca Dec 1636-31 Oct 1690) & Mary Atherton (ca 1636/7-17 Sep 1692), in Dorchester, MA.119 Born on 22 Feb 1676 in Dorchester, MA. Repent died in Dorchester, MA, on 22 Jul 1714; she was 38.119
Children of Joshua and Esther (Weeks) Pomeroy, born at Dorchester:
i. Mary Pomeroy, b. 11 Sep 1710, m. at Stoughton 10 Nov 1733 Samuel Clap;
ii. Sarah Pomeroy, b. 10 Feb 1712, m. 15 Nov 1733 John Patton of Norton, MA; and
iii. a daughter, b. & d. 1714.
On 2 Jun 1715 when Joshua was 39, he fourth married Mary Blake (37035) , daughter of John Blake (23631) (16 Jan 1655/6-2 Mar 1717/8) & Hannah [Blake] (-16 May 1722), in Dorchester, MA.119 Born on 26 Apr 1687 in Dorchester, MA. Mary died in Dorchester, MA, on 19 Mar 1718; she was 30.119
On 1 Oct 1718 when Joshua was 43, he fifth married Mary Clap (36990) , daughter of Thomas Clap (23603) (26 Sep 1663-28 Jan 1704) & Mary [Clap], in Dedham, MA.119 Born ca 1689. Mary died on 22 Jul 1744.
