On 24 Apr 1705 when Abigail was 21, she married Joseph Neal in Scituate, MA.73 Born on 4 Dec 1677 in Salem, MA.

“Joseph Neal came from Provincetown [to Scituate] about 1700. His house was near the head of the cart way that leads to Hobart’s landing: he purchased of Dea. James Torrey’s heirs. The house of Joseph, sen. was probably on the west side of the road, opposite to the ‘Neal field,’ so called.”56
Joseph lived at the head of Neal Gate Road on Main Street. The cellar of this old house is still visible (1936).47
