ca 1642 Ruth married John Whitney, son of John Whitney (ca 1599-1 Jun 1673) & Eleanor [Whitney] (-11 May 1659), in Watertown, MA. Born ca Sep 1621 in Isleworth, Middlesex. John was baptized in All Saints, Isleworth, on 14 Sep 1621. John died on 12 Oct 1692 in Watertown, MA.35

John was admitted freeman 26 May 1647, then aged 23. He was selectman six of the years from 1673 through 1679.35

6759. Tabitha Reynolds. Born ca 1625 in England. Tabitha died in May 1661 in Boston, MA.16

ca 1646 Tabitha married Matthew Abdy.384 Born ca 1620 in England.16 Matthew died aft 5 Apr 1682.16 Occupation: fisherman.

Matthew came to New England in 1635 on the Abigail, and settled at Boston.16

6760. Capt. Nathaniel Reynolds. Born ca 1627 in England. Nathaniel died on 10 Jul 1708 in Bristol, RI.384 Occupation: Shoemaker.27

According to Savage,27 Nathaniel was of ar. co. 1658, freeman1665, and ‘I think that capt. in Philip’s war on service at Chelmsford 25 Feb 1676. He is in Boston tax list of 1695; but perhaps had some years lived at Bristol.’

Nathaniel’s father’s will left him a large amount of property, and the family home on the corner of Washington and Milk Streets in Boston. He lived in Boston until about 1681 when he and his family removed to Bristol where he built a home on the northeast corner of Bradford and Thames Streets.385

Nathaniel had signed with the Proprietors on 27 Aug 1680 for a thirty-second part of the Mt Hope Lands, and was an original settler of Bristol. He was one of the founders on 3 May 1687 of the Congressional Church at Briston, and was elected grand juryman, sealer of leather, and selectman of Bristol. Capt. Nathaniel Reynold’s will called him of Bristol, and it was dated 7 Oct 1706 and proved 3 Nov 1708. He mentioned no wife, but named five sons: Nathaniel (eldest) of Boston, John, Peter, Joseph, and Benjamin (youngest) Reynolds; daughters Sarah wife of John Fosdick of Boston, Mary Woodbery, Hannah wife of Samuel Royall of Boston, an d Ruth Reynolds; his sister Mary Sanger of Watertwon; his house in Boston, his farm and house in Briston, and his 500 acres in Quenepank (Quinapaug). An inventory of his estate in Boston, located in the south end, was dated Boston 3 Nov 1708 and totalled £794 5s 6d.385

Nathaniel was select Mar 1685 Chief Constable for the City of Boston. Later he served as Lieut. and then Capt. in the Massachusetts Militia.384

On 30 Dec 1657 Nathaniel first married Sarah Dwight, daughter of John Dwight (ca 1600-1659) & Hannah [Dwight] (ca 1600-5 Sep 1656), in Boston, MA.162 Nathl. Reynolds and Sarah Dwite daughter of John Dwite of Dedham were married 30th—10th month by John Endecott Governor. Born on 7 Jun 1638 in Dedham, MA.181 Sarah, the Daughter of John & Hana Dwight, was borne the 17th of ye 4 mo. 1638. Sarah died in Boston, MA, on 8 Jul 1663; she was 25.385

ca 1649 Mary married Richard Sanger, son of Richard Sanger. Born ca 1620 in Dunhead, Englsnd. Richard died on 20 Aug 1691 in Watertown, MA.35 Occupation: blacksmith.

Richard Sanger, aged 18, embarked at Southampton, April, 1638, in the confidence, of London, John Jobson, master, as servant of John Roaff. He settled first at Sudbury where he took the oath of fidelity. Sudbury records say that he ‘removed his habiation to Watertown the 8th or 9th mo., anno 1649.’35
