On 12 Jan 1692 when Sarah was 23, she married Josiah Torrey (27976) , son of Lieut. James Torrey (ca 1613-6 Jul 1665) & Anne Hatch (14328) (ca 1626-ca 1697), in Scituate, MA.90 Born on 28 Jan 1658 in Scituate, MA.73 Josiah died in 1722.

From Deane’s History of Scituate:56
    “Josiah had a considerable tract of land contiguous to Herringbrook hill on the north. His house was in the valley one fourth mile north of the South Meeting-house, opposite to the present [1831] house of Jr. James N. Sparrell. He unfortunately lost his life, A.D. 1693 [Deane must have the date wrong]. He was in the act of tying the Town’s stock of powder on the roof of his house, when a spark from the chimney falling, his life was instantly lost, and his house laid to ruins.”

ca 1696 Ruth married Theophilus Doty (10388) , son of Joseph Doty (3635) (30 Apr 1651-ca 1732) & Deborah Ellis (4992) (ca 1652-21 Jun 1711).294 Born on 22 Feb 1674 in Sandwich, MA.176 Theophilus died in Smithfield, RI, on 18 Jan 1746; he was 71.294

Both Theophilus and his widow Ruth died intestate. Their daughter Joanna was administratrix of their estate, inventory taken 9 Feb 1746.294
