    In his will made 11 Sept. 1708, mentions and provides for w. Rebecca, gives ‘to son Ephraim that part of my estate which fell to me at my father's decease, lying at the northwest of my father's homestead now in the possession of my brother Jabez Wilder, and bounded northerly by Benjamin Tower; westerly towards the common lands, and southerly by Jabez Wilder; to son Isaac my house, barn, pasture, orchard, and land adjoining; to my daughter Elizabeth Sprague £6, in addition to what she has already had; to daughters Harriet [Hannah] Wilder, Rebecca Wilder, and Mary Wilder £29 each,’ etc. ‘Farmer.’ Constable 1691, and 1692. Resided on Main St., South Hingham.
On 30 Nov 1675 John married Rebecca Doggett, daughter of Thomas Doggett (ca 1607-18 Aug 1692) & Joanne (ca 1612-4 Sep 1684), in Marshfield, MA.45 Born on 29 Jul 1655 in Marshfield, MA.280 Rebecca died in Hingham, MA, on 4 Oct 1728; she was 73.45

    In Ephraim’s will of 26 March, 1687, proved 30 Apr. 1692, gives ‘to brother-in-law Israel Fearing the horse which I use to ride. To my brother John Wilder, and to my six sisters, all my lands and rights in the township of Mendon, to be equally divided between them. And as to my part of that land at Monument lying betwixt Israel Fearing, Isaac Wilder, Jabez Wilder, and myself, I give to my beloved brothers Isaac, Israel, and Jabez, to be equally divided between them. I give to my brother Jabez all my lands and rights in Hingham and Scituate, as also that part of my land at Accord Pond.’ Est. appraised at £429 8s.

    Jabes, ‘farmer,’ constable 1687, and 1700. Resided on the paternal homestead, Main St., Soouth Hingham In his will 29 June, 1731, gives ‘to my wife Mary the use and improvement of 1/3 of my estate, both real and personal, during her natural life. To son Jabez the new dwelling-house on the side of the highway at South Hingham;’ mentions a black oak-tree ‘standing ont he boundary line between Ephraim's homestead and mine;’ bequeaths also ‘to sons Edward and Theophilus, and to daughters Mary Slaughter [Slader], Sarah Loring, Leah Wilder, and Kezia Wilder, each £100.’ The inventory of his state appraised 12 Aug 1731 included in a long list of personal property, books, arms, gold plate, hour-glass, side saddle, pillion, 7 sdp (?) of bees, loom, and weaving -tackle, 7 oxen, 6 cows, 3 steers three-year-old, 6 fat cattle, 2 two-year olds, 4 of one year old, 5 calves, 32 sheep, 1 horse, 1 mare, swine, etc.
Jabez married Mary Ford (16423) , daughter of Dea. William Ford (6124) (ca 1634-7 Feb 1721/2) & Sarah Dingley (6099) (ca 1639-7 May 1727). Born on 16 May 1671 in Marshfield, MA.45 Mary died in Hingham, MA 1 Feb 1747/8.45

On 3 Aug 1692 Abiah married William Clark, son of Thomas Clark (1599-24 Mar 1697) & Susannah Ring (ca 1611-), in Plymouth, MA.16 Born ca 1634.16

William first married Sarah Wolcott, second Hannah Griswold, and third Abiah Wilder.

    “lived in a garrison house by Eel river, which was surprised by the Indians on a Sunday, March 12, 1676, while he was at church. His wife, several of his children, and some other persons, eleven in all, were killed in this attack, which is said to have been the only serious one ever made on the settlement. A son of William Clarke, named Thomas, was left for dead, but afterwards recovered, and had a silver plate but over his exposed brain, by the celebrated surgeon Dr. John Clarke, of Boston. He ever afterwars was known as ‘Silver-headed Tom.’
    “In July 1676, two hundred Indians surrendered themselves to the Plymouth Governor, and were pardoned, with the exception of those who had been concerned in the slaughter at Clarke’s garrison at Plymouth; these were put to death.—Baylies’ History.”354

4390. Mehitable Wilder. Born ca 1661 in Hingham, MA.45 Mehitable died aft 1716.

In 1709 Mehitable was acquitted on witchcraft charges.31 Over sixty signed the following document: “Hingham the 7th Feb. 1708-9. Where as we the underwritten have heard that there are scandalous reports of the widow Mahatabel Warran of Plymouth, we, knowing that she was brought up in the place, and in her younger time had been a person of great affliction, before she was married, and hath lived in this towne divers years in her widowhood, and we never have had any suspition nor have ever heard that any amongst us have had the least suspition that ever she was guilty of the sin of being a witch or anything that may occation such suspition of her.”13

Francis came to Plymouth from France in 1694 by the way of Buzzard's Bay, where he was wrecked in a French vessel.132
