4415. William Brewster. Born on 9 Mar 1625 in Plymouth, MA.175 William died in England.

William, in the list of those able to bear arms in Duxbury in 1643. In Aug 1645, he, with five others from Duxbury, served 17 days in the Narragansett Expedition.175

On 25 Oct 1651 when William was 26, he married Mary Peime.142

4416. Mary Brewster. Born on 16 Apr 1627 in Plymouth, MA.175 Mary died aft 23 Mar 1698 in Scituate, MA.142

On 12 Nov 1645 when Mary was 18, she married John Turner Sr. (3261) , son of Humphrey Turner (1351) (ca 1595-1672/3) & Lydia Gamer (ca May 1602-1669/70), in Scituate, MA.66 Born ca 1621 in Terling, Essex. John was baptized in Terling, Essex, on 24 Mar 1621.131 John died aft 20 May 1697 in Scituate, MA.

John settled 30 rods north-west of Union bridge, where he erected a tannery. Twenty acres were laid out for John, east of Barstow’s hill and adjoining the third Herring boork; his son Isaac lived on this land.56 He held numerous town offices, and with his younger brotgher, John Turner, known as John, Jr., served on many committees for division of common lands, and on those chosen to carry out various actions of the town. The brothers were often serving together on juries at the Plymouth Court, as well as upon inquests. John, Sr., served in the campaign against the Narragansetts with his brother, Joseph Turner.47

John was on the list of those able to bear arms in Duxbury in 1643. In Jun 1650 he was the defendant in a suit brought aginst him by Thomas Bonney in which the jury declared in his favor.175

4418. Ruth Brewster. Born on 3 Oct 1631 in Jones River, Plymouth, MA.145 Ruth died in New London, CT, on 30 Apr 1677; she was 45.27

On 14 Mar 1651 when Ruth was 19, she first married John Pickett, son of John Pickett & Elizabeth Ives, in New London, CT.142 Born ca 1629. John died on 16 Aug 1667.175

John, of New London. He died at sea returning from the Barbados.175

On 16 Jul 1668 when Ruth was 36, she second married Charles Hill, son of George Hill, in New London, CT.27 Charles died in Oct 1684.175

Charles, of New London, came from Maryland 1665, but was born in Barlow, near Chesterfield in Derbyshire, son of George. He was a merchant of distinction, partner with the Christophers, going to and from Barbados. From that island he brought the first news of the great fire in London 1666, as set forth in his letter to Gov. Winthrop of 16 Jan following. See 3 Mass. Hist. Coll. X. 66. He was a useful man, recorder of the town, and clk. of the Co. Court, and d. 1684.27

4419. Benjamin Brewster. Born on 17 Nov 1633 in Plymouth, MA.145 Benjamin died in Norwich, CT, on 14 Sep 1710; he was 76.145

"Benjamin Brewster served as Deputy to the General Court of the Colony of Connecticut in 1668, '89, '90, '93-'97. He was a Lieutenant of New London troops in 1673, and Captain of the Military Company of Norwich, 1693. Benjamin settled on the family homestead at Brewster's Neck, having acquired the land from his father in 1658, and from his brother-in-law John Pickett, in February 1661/2." 142

On 29 Feb 1660 when Benjamin was 26, he married Ann Addis, daughter of William Addis & Millicent Wood, in Norwich, CT. Born ca 1627. Ann was baptized in Severne, Gloucestershire, Eng, on 17 Mar 1627.142 Ann died on 9 May 1709 in Norwich, CT.

On 7 Sep 1653 when Elizabeth was 16, she first married Peter Bradley in New London, CT.142 Born ca 1634. Peter died on 3 Apr 1662 in Flushing, LI. Occupation: mariner.

Peter was at New London by 1654.142

"Christopher Christophers, mariner, was at New London 26 June 1665 when he entered partnership with Charles Hill and purchased warehouses and wharfage on Mill Cove. As successful merchant-traders, they had vessels built by Mould & Coit, shipwrights, including the New London, 1666, the barque Regard, 1668, and the sloop Charles, 1672. He purchased farms at Pine Neck and Fort Hill on 10 January 1670/1, built a home on Main Street iin 1680, and on 1 July 1687, purchased land at Black Point from Tattobitton, an Indian. A prominent citizen, he was New London's Deputy to the General Assembly of Connecticut at Hartford, 11 October 1683 and 8 October 1685." 142

4421. Grace Brewster. Born on 1 Nov 1639 in Duxbury, MA.145 Grace died in New London, CT, on 22 Apr 1684; she was 44.145

Between her two daughters named Mary, Grace had “4 Sons Sucsesu [torn] borne and Dyed nameles Imediately after their Birth.”175

On 4 Aug 1659 when Grace was 19, she married Capt. Daniel Witherell (3341) , son of Rev. William Witherell (1366) (ca 1600-9 Apr 1684) & Mary Fisher (17 Apr 1604-bef 26 Mar 1684), in New London, CT.142 Born on 29 Nov 1630 in Maidstone, Kent, Eng.175 Daniel died on 14 Apr 1719; he was 88.175

Daniel was town clerk, moderator, justice, judge of the county court and judge of probate.175
He died at sea, Barbados.

On 23 Dec 1664 when Hannah was 23, she married Samuel Starr, son of Dr. Thomas Starr (ca 1615-26 Nov 1658) & Rachel Harris, in New London, CT.142 Born ca 1640 in prob. Massachusetts.

Samuel was in Charlestown in 1660, Boston in 1661, and New London by 1664.
