Hull family (523)

1291. Richard Hull. Born on 3 Dec 1599 in Derbyshire, England. Richard died ca 1 Sep 1662 in New Haven, CT.60

Richard first resided in the Massachussetts Colony and was freeman 1 Apr 1634. He was in Boston short time about 1637, then in New Haven by 1640. He named in his will of Aug 1662 children Jeremiah, John, Hannah, and Mary.27

Savage and others have identified this Richard Hull (of New Haven in 1640) with the Richard Hull admitted freeman of Massachusetts Bay 1 Apr 1634. That Richard was listed among men of Dorchester suggesting he would be the brother of George and John Hull of Dorchester. Anderson18 says there is no particular reason identify the two Richards, or to connect either to a “Richard Hull, carpenter,” who was in Boston in 1637.

Richard married Dorothy Hiner.

Their children include:
2958 i. Mary Hull (ca 1632/1635-26 Feb 1664)
2959 ii. Dr. John Hull (ca 1640-6 Dec 1711)
2960 iii. Hannah Hull (ca 1641-)
2961 iv. Jeremiah Hull (ca 1640/1645-13 Jun 1700)
