Clovis, the Riparian, Frankish king of Cologne.

5. King Merovech of the Franks. Born ca 415. Merovech died in 457.

Merovech, also spelled Maerovaee or Meroveck, ruler of the Franks in the mid fifth century, say 448–457, whom the Merovingian dynasty is named after. He defeated Attila the Hun in 451.

Records of Merovech are scarce. Gregory of Tours (538–594) wrote that “some say that Merovech, the father of Childeric, was descended from Chlodio.” Perhaps he was the son, granson, or son-in-law of Clodion.
